What makes a brand endure

Most brand advice is about differentiation. Stand out. Be memorable. Own your category. All true. But the brands that actually endure do something else. They keep making a consistent promise, even when it is not convenient.

This is harder than it sounds. Pressure to chase trends, launch features and respond to competitors pushes organisations towards brand drift – the cumulative effect of small inconsistencies that erode what people thought they knew about you.

Building a brand that lasts does not mean ignoring change. It means choosing which changes to embrace and which to resist – and having a system that makes that distinction clear.
